Rock climbing in Aigle

Aigle’s Plantour rock face has been a favourite with climbers since the 1950s but it was only in 1992 that ardent climbers fixed the first bolts used in modern mountaineering. Just a few kilometres from Aigle town, this climbing site is equipped with 45 different routes scaling the heights of the rock face.

Easily reached on foot, it’s only a short walk to the base of Plantour’s limestone cliffs which enjoy an agreeable west-facing location.

The climbing routes are well equipped and with ratings from 4c to 8b+ are ideal for advanced and expert climbers.
